Constant curvature: a distinguishing design feature of the skeeter hull is the constant curvature of the boat from bow to stern. with the widest point just forward of the console, you get a larger front casting deck and oversized storage.. The flats boat would work better for my requirements after some redesigning of the deck. so the hull shape is from plans, the rest is my design (or lack thereof). the boat is constructed out of marine ply wood completely encased in epoxy fibreglass, basically a composite boat (fibreglass with a ply core).. Took me 4 day to finish this project but it was so worth it! i had been wanting to do this upgrade to my boat for forever and now finally its done!!!.
I am working on a 20' loa x 8' max. beam 1500lb. ( lightship w/o motor) bass boat. i would like feedback on the general geometry and what makes a really good deck layout for this type of craft.. Deck plugs fill the unused pedestal seat plug common on most bass boats, and many other fishing boats. for anglers that don't keep their seats in the hole, this leaves room for you to trip on, drop baits and tackle down, and also allow water to enter compartments underneath..
